tastings of homemade craft beers

Oh, this mild smell of hops from the brewing coppers, this alluring scent of delicacies from the kitchen—any human nose will immediately discover that no traveller’s or wayfarer’s culinary desire shall remain unfulfilled at the Batzenhäusl in Bolzano. The down-to-earth calmness of this charming guesthouse is owed to its more than 600-year-long history. Back in the day—in 1756, to be precise—beer cost exactly one ‘batzen’ (or four kreutzers), lending the place the name it still holds today.

It is this legacy, combined with talent and passion, which still encourages the Batzenhäuslers to practice the high art of brewing.

Beer aficionados get the chance to try out countless kinds of mouth-watering in-house brews

and discover yet unknown tastes of the amber nectar.

To sit and dine together: happy guests for generations.
